the way I do with my old Farmalls is get slap-happy with the garden hose. Hold your hand over the lower inlet, (thermo-siphon warm water exits on top, cools in rad and comes back on the bottom) fill water jacket then move your hand and let it gush out, repeat. Helps if your shop is outside.
