I have purchased an IHC TD-14a that has been sitting in the weeds for approximately 10 years. Everything is fine - no sign of water in the cylinders or crankcase, no gumming in the fuel system. One problem --there's no magneto or battery ignition system. There's no key switch on the panel and a wire hanging down from the intake manifold. The owner doesn't know when it was removed. The 12-volt generator is in great shape. Is there any advantage of a magneto over a bettery ignition system (or vice versa). I am a newbie to the world of vintage iron, so I certainly would appreciate any help you can give. With thanks in advance, David Lemos Modesto, CA
