H Govenor - Two diffrent type of springs?

I am in the process of rebuilding the govenor on my H and discovered that there are two styles of springs shown for use in the govenor.

One spring looks like an everyday spring with a hook at either end.

The other spring has a hook at one end, but the end that attaches to the rockshaft lever has a yoke that attaches to the lever with a pin and cotterpin.

Is one spring better than the other? I'd assume that the spring that attaches with the pin and cotterpin would be better as it wouldn't wear the lever as much. But maybe they had trouble with it binding.

Anyone have any experience or input in regard to which spring to use?
