Lewis: Having read most of what your respondants said, I believe Brian Schmidt and Roger Wells have the best idea. Open to the best offer, will weed out the greed crowd. In doing this you would operate more like a tendering process, where you agree to hold the item open to offers for two weeks. Photos will much enhance this process. In fact the auction Kim now operates here at YT, would be much improved if she didn't allow reserve bids. People with reserve bids may as well just go to Photo Adds or Classified adds. This would truly make it an auction. This would also work well for the guy with an item he can't identify. Just put in a picture, numerous people will recognize. In fact Kim doesn't even need to change the rules. You get enough items in there with no reserve bid, and the other guys will soon be history.
