786 clutch , TA or both

I had purchased a 786 a few years ago knowing there was a problem with the TA. It did not want to work in high range but worked fine in low. Now the problem is that when you rev it up it does not want to go in any gear. When you idle it back it's fine and will even spin the tires.
I thought it was the clutch but shouldn't it slip all the time?
