If the compression chamber in the head in question, is flat, and shallow in the chamber, and the valves are straight up and down instead of at an angle,, it is a truck head. if it has an angled valve, and the chamber is deeper at one side, it is a tractor head.. made for fire crater pistons. both heads have the same size ports, and the same size valves, I don't know if the angled valves would make a difference or not,, but, if it is a truck head,, the springs will be stiffer too. (Higher rpm) There is a post in the pulling forum about these cyl heads,, check it out,, it has a lot of good info about the IH truck engines, and a whole lot more from the Hastings corp,, There is a gentleman by the user name "Buzzman72" he know these old engines a whole lot better than I do,, The info I gave you,, is what he told me. Hope this will help, ChadS
