Bags, is there a possibility that the auctioneer is still around? They often keep records of sales and the names of registered bidders. My uncle kept his farm sale record from 1959 and I was going through his stuff, named every person and what article they bought and the price. There is always a soft spot in me for people trying to find a tractor that was once in the family, I still have my Dad's 1940 M and I know what it means to me.......good luck in your search....Mike in Exeter Ontario
