An old mechanic friend showed me one day how he fixed these shut offs. Loosen the nut and wind several rounds of waxed dental tape or floss around the shaft of the bent shaft. Tighten up the nut which compresses the floss and seals the leak! Presto like. (This was long before teflon tape seal was even thought about). I wish I were the one who discovered that stuff!!!
