560 diesel pricw help

Ran into a 560 diesel for sale at a old farm and the farmer ask what I would give for it.Hasn't ran for about three yrs,tires fair.Neighbor told me he pulled it last time to start it.whats a fair price for it providing the engine turns over.I suspect it will be needing some work and quite possible a over haul.Just guessing will check out further tomorrow.Is a thousand to much?Thanks Butch
