I have a 3 pt. on my M and one of the things it does is plow snow. A 7 ft. rear blade works best. I use mind to clear small areas in the woods also. I tried an 8 footer, but even with 16.9 tires on my tractor I didn't have enough power to push a full blade of dirt etc. It would probably be okay on snow though. You will find that you will use the 3 point for other things too. I have added a 3 pt. rear boom and it is very handy. As far as getting on and off I just step on the left arm and then to the axel and up.
