Super M carburetor valve

There is a little brass valve in my carb that really gives
me a headache. It is a triangle shape with a rubber/
synthetic tip that fits into a cylinder, activated by the
float, which allows a certain amount of fuel into the bowl
of the carb. It sticks, so it fills the bottom of the carb and
overflows into air intake. If I shut the gas off when I shut
the tractor off, no problems. I replaced it exactly a year
ago, and that one went bad this summer, and then this
summer, but that one has gone bad now. I am going to
buy another one, but why am I having such problems
with this part? I buy it from my Case IH dealer. Thank
