Farmall H Steering gear

I was tearing apart my H and I found that the steering gear and worm gear were lubricated with heavy gear oil where as my M is lubricated with grease. The H is a '41 and the M is a '40 but I doubt that would have anything to do with it. Which is it supposed to be or better yet which works better? Also, the m steering gear is a sector gear with teeth only on like 2/3 of the gear while the H has teeth all the way around. I thought they would have been the same. Thanks for any insight.
