Fire Crater piston for FA 300

Well now that I am spending money like a Salor on a 2 week leave in Singapore on my 400.
I may have to switch to plan D on my 300. What do you think the chances I can Find a used fire Crater piston to replace the one I had to beat with a sledge to get loose?
I am thinking I can hone the sleve thats in there and put in the used piston and have this 300 running asap.
What say you? Dumb Idea or a workable plan?
