The 88 series was one of the most sophisticated tractors the IH made. Although the hood may be heck to get off, it was designed so that heat would be pulled off the block and through the top of the hood. Any true IH fan sees it as the last of the breed before the other company had influence on them. The transmission may not have been the greatest on the market at the time, but they are still great tractors worth spending money on.
