In reply to KEN.If your steering is stiff,start by determining where problem is. Jack front end up; remove drag links;check spindles for binding,worn bushings,etc. While drag links are off check gearbox for binding,worn bushings,etc.If these things checkout O.K. then problem could be in p/s hydraulics.Learned to drive on a 300U some 30 yrs. ago and p/s is somewhat limited by amount of load on front end,i.e. more weight added-more steering effort needed.Then again maybe I've just been spoiled by IH hydrostatic steering. Hope this is of some help.
