Get your hot water from below the thermostat, in the thermostat housing. The return FROM the heater will go TO the water pump, in the area of the lower radiator hose. The water pump PULLS water from the bottom of the radiator, and forces it into the block, so you want to tap into the pump into a passage that is in common with the passage that connects to the lower radiator hose. The heater fills with water due to the action of the water pump, and when the tractor is shut off, the water stays in the radiator because it is a closed system... for water to flow out of the heater, air would have to get in, and since the cooling system is sealed, air does not get into the heater, and the water stays in the heater.

Do you have a gas or diesel? I suspect they would be about the same, either way.
