I agree with your sentiment, but the Garand M1 is still Federal legal - the Viet Nam war AR15/M16 is not. The M1 Carbine was illegal in California, and in L.A. they've still got a law which bans Civil War vintage Henry repeating rifles because of their large capacity magazines. You're right about the irony. Those weapons helped preserve the Union, and kept us from speaking German/Japanese/Russian/Chinese -- but they haven't yet protected us from home grown idiots and petty dictators.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
