Not necessarily, theres a neighbor that has one like that, and I think it was on an older H. But than again it might be a change over from the mags, because they are almost like the ones used on the later Allis Chalmers WD, and early WD45's. It might be alot easier to change points on the vertical shaft distributor than compared to the horizontal shaft. Just my $0.02's.
