Greetings from Maine....while out searching for a new 6V generator for my 49' C, I happend to meet an old timer yesterday...this led to that & he told me about an old tractor he had that he used to hay with & due to health, could no longer use...we took a drive out to his place last night (Limerick Maine)& what he had was a 1944 Farmall A..he bought it new in Limerick Maine in 1945 when he got home from the service...tractor still has original decals on it & all books/ records with it...there is no rust other than on the manifold, the tractor starts right up (we had to pop start it because the battery is dead)...the tractor is very clean & has been kept in a Milking room (some heat), there are no grease/ oil leaks. I gave him $100 deposit @ 8pm last night & we are on our way to go get it this morning...can anyone tell me what a tractor in this nice a shape might be worth? Did a get a "good deal" @ $1,300? I paid $1,600 years ago for my C & I always thought I did well on that one...
