The knuckle has to be more than finger tight,it has to be pulled up tight or you could even use lock tite on it,make sure the spline is not moving inside the housing,I sometimes put a spot of weld to stop them from moving.
Hang in there bits fall off all the time,one of the thrills of owning an old girl.lol.
