beetles

Does anyone know the proper name of those pesky beetles that bite and stink when you squash them that are in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
They look alot like a lady bug but are not. I think the Ag dept . brought them in to protect corn and soy bean crops from other insects.
Hope someone can be helpful and Thanks in advance. Ray in Pa.
