Look for the tractor casting code(as opposed to the engine casting code). Its located on right side in front of the brakes. It will have two numbers and a letter. The first number is the month of production, the second number is the day, and the letter is the year.Z=1954, A=1955, B=1956 etc etc...if your date and month is Z or A, its definitely a 400. If its B or C, its a 450 based on your serial #. The S after the serial# means it had TA and independent PTO.
My guess is youve either got a 1955 400 or a 1957 450.
