This isn't really answering your question but I think the H is a much better tractor. When I was growing up back in the 50's the only way you could plow with an 8N was with a mounted plow and then only if you went very shallow with it. When one of our neighbors tried to pull our 2-16 JD plow that dad pulled in 4th gear with his 49 H and all he could do was spin the wheels. After a little while he came back and got the H to finish the job. I think he traded the 8N for a new 350 later. Most farmers around here thought the Fords were kind of a joke when it came came to any serious field work.
