Some of the later model 140 had alternators- not saying that yours does. But I have never seen any value to diconnecting the battery on a machine that is running. Many alternators are damaged by such an event. With machine stopped and all switches off, remove one battery cable. Attach one lead of voltmeter to the empty battery terminal and the other lead to the cable end. If there is a reading, something is draining the battery. Start disconnecting wires-one at a time and if no change in the voltmeter, reconnect the wire before disconnecting the next one. When the reading drops to zero, the disconnected wire, or it's attendant device, is involved in the battery drain.
