B block identification

I have a B that may have been pieced together. I plan on getting this tractor back into service as a working tractor and maybe for parades and such. I don't have the budget to do a real show quality restoration, but I would like to do a good job. This is my first tractor so I plan on seeking a lot of help from folks like you.
When I bought this tractor, I also got the parts tractor with it. I have noticed that the two blocks are different. The block that runs, (serial number 29184) has a plate on the side that covers a hole between the mag and the oil filter. There is also a place on the rear of the block that is curved inward, (toward the centerline of the tractor) away from the mating surface with the torque tube. The serial number tag on this tractor is 23713. The part number on this block is 364 111 R1. There are no accessories, (lights, generator, starter).
The parts tractor had a cracked block. The serial number is 68831 and matches the serial number of the tag below the seat. The cracked block part number is 6342 DH.
I have some tech manuals and the only part number I can find is for the cracked block.
What is the other block from? Is it from a super A, or a C? Were there blocks made to be used just as repair parts?
The reason for my asking is that if this is a tractor that can't be restored becaused it has been pieced together, then I won't spend time on the cosmetics and instead I'll focus on the mechanics.
