I went through the process of rebuilding a 1951 MD. I completely rebuilt the engine as well as most of the rest of the tractor. It wasn't a cheap restoration. I started out with a tractor that had a cracked block as well and I ended up getting a used block that was out of a td-6 bulldozer. It is the same block. I didn't really cut any corners and I have quite a bit of money in it. It was a fun project for me even though it was expensive. I would get another one of the start on gas diesels if I had the money. It is a fun tractor to operate and it can be funny to see people's faces when they see a diesel engine with a carburetor, spark plugs and magneto.
