what gear to pull in

Got the loader and cab off of the 1466, and has quite a bit of power. I was thinking of pulling in the farm stock. Am planning to do just weight of tractor at moment, not load it up with weights. Does anyone know what gear to be in, or ever heard what other people pull in even with a 9 or 1066 series. Also, what is the MAX RPM for an engine like that, it can run nice and smooth at full with lever all the way to the right, with no turn up. Although the tack quits and flies completely horizontal when reaching 2400.
