Starter won't dis-engage after started

I have a Farmall 450. We just had the starter rebuilt, but are still having the same problem we had before about 50% of the time. When we turn the key and push the starter button, the tractor fires up fine but the starter doesn't disengage. Even while running the tractor for several minutes, the starter appears to still be running. Even when I turn the tractor off with the key, the starter keeps cranking. I have to manually diconnect the wire from the starter to the solinoid for it to stop. This happens only sometimes, not always. Why is this and how can I fix it? Is there an inexpensive solution? Thanks.
