if being a gas would be a problem depends what you are using it for. should start easier in the winter. if you can buy it cheap enough compared to a diesel, you can afford to put some gas through it. i'd think the cab would be more of a deterrent to buying than the gas. you can't see as well out of them as an aftermarket cab of the same era. i have a 966 that has been a good tractor, though not nimble. i would think the 766 would handle more like my 826, which is quite maneuverable. as to price, a 766 diesel would bring $5-7000 from a dealer, usually less in a private sale. the gas should be $1000-1500 less. having said that, watch it sell for more.
