Hi
I need a little input here. I went to look at a farmall Super C today 1953 with 2pt.

The tractor started up good and the engine seemed to sound good to me. No funny smoke or anything. The rims were so so. Starting to get rusty around the stems. Will need replaced soon i think. the guys says he thinks it has tubes. i don't think it does myself.

The hydraulics had a remote on them and they leaked pretty bad. the leak looked like it was on the right side control. Other leaks all over the lines and fittings. SO it would need a good bit of work there I think.

ALso notice a leak up around the front... looked like it was coming from around the crankshaft/flywheel area. I couldn't tell if it was antifreeze but i'm thinking it probably was. It was all wet in there behind the fan on the front of the engine anyway.

The guy didn't let on like there was any trouble at all other than the leaky hydraulics and he said it was on the remote whereas I looked for myself and found it was on the main control valve.

I really do want a super C but this gentleman was asking $1200. I think that is way to much. would you all agree? The tracto was straight. Steering was loose as usual. NF.

Do you guys think I should even make an offer on this?

Thanks much!

Today's Featured Article - George's Fordson Major - by Anthony West (UK). This is a bit of a technical info to add on to the article about George's Major in the "A Towny Goes Plowing" article. George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19 ... [Read Article]
