If you switch to a distributor system you can't run it if the generator ever dies or the battery is shot. Just the other day we were running our H without a battery in it. Used the bat. to start it, then put it in the m to charge it. (h has a dead generator)
6 or 12 volts won't matter to the mag either. Need to change the coil or add a resitor if you're running a distributor system.
