Try a known GOOD battery after removing the old one. In 6 weeks the old one could be dead. I recently had an experience with a 6 1/2 year old battery that worked fine untill I shut the engine off and tried to start it 3-4 minutes later. It read 12v on a meter, but when the key was turned, nothing happened. It almost killed the jump battery. The cables were cleaned, then starter was replaced. Still nothing even with a jump. I replaced the battery with a new one and the engine started instantly. I believe the battery would short out on heavy current draw.
