I am going to look at a IH 300 U with a hyd lift mid mount sickle bar this week. the guy is asking $3500 and says he has gone over it well and is an ag mechanics teacher (did not restore it, just checked it out, tuned it up, changed fluids, and a few parts. it look like a good working machine (not clean but not all rusted out) has PS,TA, PTO,3PTH. All work. rubber is good. one rim is rusted to the point it may need to be replace in a couple of year. this is a four hour drive for me and I have only seen pictures. what I would like to know is this a fair price for the package. what is the sickle bar attachment worth? I am in western NY and plan to use it mostly in my woods (65 acres) and trimming up a 5 acre field. I can email pictures if that helps.
