i used the all-thread into the mounting bolt holes method of getting mine down. it takes a while, but so does wiping your butt with two broken hands. You can do it this way by yourself with no problem.
i pulled the pump out of the reservoir when i got it down far enough
putting the pipes and control lever back in were somewhat of a challenge but not impossible.
