Just my two cents' worth...had a friend awhile back who used to buy and sell used cars for some side money...he told me that he used Aviation Permatex on the head gaskets on the ones he SOLD, and NOT on the ones he kept...said he didn't wanna be the SOB who got stuck taking the heads off the Permatex'ed engines, 'cause the aviation stuff set 'em up like they were welded on...no firsthand knowledge, just passin' on what the man told me...but from what I DO know, it sounds like what you've used is the Number 2 Permatex...which is what AMC used to recommend on one head bolt that passes thru a water jacket on their V8's...so even if it is, you still should be OK.
