Gary, I am armed with lots of info now thanks to you and a few others, just gotta get some time in my sched to go out there and try it all. I am in the Waterford area of VT (probably not on a map)what they call the Northeast Kingdom. Retired out of the service 3 years ago, after 22 years. Got a little place on a hillside, have another tractor as well a Farmall A (1946). I think I can fumble around now without hurting myself or the tractor, worse that could happen is I have to replace a few parts (on the tractor I hope). I'll post back with results.
