Jimmy's right. Not sure why, but the thermostat housing designed to flow a small amount of coolant to the radiator even when the thermostat is closed. Makes it's difficult to get the engine temp up into the "run" range cold weather and light load. In cold weather I use a winter front covering the grille on both my SH and SM so the motors can get up to temperature.
