My HS aged son restored a '49 JD for a "senior project" last year. Displayed it at the 4-H fair this summer, and merited a front page article with pictures in the county newspaper. Recently, he drove the tracor in a local festival parade. Had many cheering for him, including MY third grade teacher! Has become quite a local celebrity! Will be using it next weekend for the motive power for a hayride. Showing your tractors is good public relations.......

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights. The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony.
