Jesse, as what Big Fred said the difference in density of antifreeze and water will inhibit the thermosiphon action. Remove upper an lower hose's flush out block an radiator making sure they are clear of junk. Reg A's do not have water pumps an they work on thermosiphon action which means that the cold water goes to the bottom an the hot comes to the top thus keeping the engine cool. If you are into major engine repair you could pull sleeve's an clean out block that way as well reset sleeve's. But the way it sounds your not into major repair or rebuilding the engine so I'll just recommend a good flushing. Hope this helps only my two cents worth
