I think the low speed gears are referring to first gear only, it seems like I remember the parts catalog describing this as being a one mile per hour, or one and one half mile per hour attachment. The rest of the speeds would be the same as any H. Running this tractor on gasoline for several years would not have hurt it. the original cylinder head would have been lower compression, but I would not change it unless it turns out that your cylinder head is not useable. If your tractor still has the kerosene manifold, you might want to change it to the later style, but the tractor will run satisfactorily with the old style. There are many, many choices when it comes to sleeve and piston kits, any one of them will work in your engine, as long as the kit you choose is listed for your serial number. What it all boils down to is, an H is an H is an H.
