Kelly: Big difference on power and the live take off. You will continue to break less shear bolts. I found on S-69 baler and 460 haybine, 300 tended to drag down a bit, then governors would hit it and away goes a shear bolt. With the extra power your equipment will run smoother and without the surges. I used 560 and 656 diesels on that haybine for 15 years and don't ever remember breaking a shear bolt. I did break a few on baler but far less than with 300.

That however is the hp cutoff on balers and haybines. Beyond 60 hp all you will add is fuel consumption.
