Farmall 560 SMOKE!!!

I just aquired a 560 Diesel. When I got it there was some water on top of the pistons causing it to make one revelution and stop. We got it home and pulled the injectors out and spun it over, put the injectors back in and cranked it. We are getting some white smoke that we thought we may be getting water from somewhere. I drained the fuel tank and changed the fuel filters and that didn't seem to help much. The smoke will clear up after a minute or so at low to medium idle but smokes like a late freight at high idle. any ideas? thanks in advance.
