As Tim and Cubber said, you gotta clobber it! A piece of wood will work, but if you have a piece of aluminum bar stock about 2" in diameter and 4" long, it'll work better. A heavy brass hammer can also be used without tearing up the end of the bolster shaft. Wear your safety glasses, and be certain the tractor is supported very solidly before you start pounding.
