I faced the same dilemma as you some time ago.
If you could find one of the transmission driven
type pto's, I believe it would go in. As near as
I can tell, the 300's that came through without
pto's would accept this type without major clutch
alterations. The independant type, which is much
more common, requires changing other internal parts. Finding a trans. driven pto may be difficult. I have seen a few, but they are not
real common.
