Have a 2001 New Holland 5610 that sets outside until my shed is built that had similar problems. After no use for about 3-4 weeks, the gears scraped when engagement was initiated. After consulting the dealer, this is a common problem with their newer tractors that set too long on the lot (no use). Solution: Jerk gear shift into low range and drive around (this might take 40 minutes) while repeatedly pressing in the clutch and aplying both breaks until the clutch breaks free. Put a piece of 2x4 wood under the clutch pedal as a preventive measure. Recommend putting clutch ajustment back in original position before trying this.
