We had problems with our D282 not wanting to start(706)........Just bought it this spring so haven't used it in the cold yet. I glow plug ours for about a min.........Crank it some.......glow plug it some more(min and a half).......And it usually goes. Once it is running it stays running until we are 100% done for the day, since it sips fuel. Someone on the Red Power has a 656U and said the book recommends you hold the glow plugs while cranking and for acouple seconds after the engine starts...........I tried this method on ours and it works extremely well. I only do that when it is in the 50's or 60's........Above that I don't think it is needed.
