The H oil pump wasn't really designed for rebuild. I have taken two so-so pumps and made one from the best parts. It works great and produces a lot of pressure, but I do NOT recommend this. It was a lot more trouble than just getting a good pump somewhere else.

The gasket set for your rebuild will include a couple of shims for the bottom plate. They won't be necessary if you get a good pump. Put them in a safe place in case you need them later.
