I standardized on 10w30 oil for my truck, car, both tractors, mower, tiller. Dont think straight weight is better. Multiviscosity is better (thin) when cold for startup, and still has the thicker viscosity when hot. They would have put in in all tractors if it was available back then. Detergent is good for a motor. LIke the guys said, if never used before it will start cleaning the insides and you need to change the oil a couple times to see if anything is washed dwon into the pan. Run 50 hours and drain and "look" then determine next interval.
