MD odd looking injector pump

I was at a sale on Saturday and saw an odd looking injector pump on a MD. Instead of being inline, the fuel lines were in a circular pattern like plug wires would be placed around the distributor cap, kinda like the Roosamaster pump on a 560. I was telling another collector about it and he told me he has one like it, and has never seen another. He was told it was a factory installed pump, possibly a wartime setup. Anyone know anything about this type of pump?
