Bent the piston rod on one of those once. Dealer price for a new one was out of this world. Took it to a cylinder repair shop and they tore it apart, made a new piston rod, put in new seals and assembled. Was under $200.00 which was under 1/2 price of a new one. Generally these shops would be found in larger cities. I went to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They had 4 or 5 guys just rebuilding cylinders. Took it in one day and got it back the next. I saw the cylinder come apart but can't remember how. Seems like some internal snapring was used.
